The Countdown maths whiz has a large group of fans who tune in every weekday to see what tight dress she will pour her amazing figure into. Perhaps also to see if the contestants can keep a straight face as they ask her for “2 from the top” in the numbers round!
We are sure Rachel and the backstage team will have a great time dressing her in all the revealing Latin outfits and lets all hope she gets through to the latter stages of the competition.
Her Countdown predecessor Carol Vorderman was something of a disappointment on Strictly when she appeared in 2004. She was branded as passionless by Strictly judge Arlene Philips and was voted off the show early on by the viewers. The show’s producers had high hopes for Carol who also has a big group of fans and she was expected to do well in the dance competition. After her early exit Carol also refused to return for the traditional last show finale number citing an earlier personal commitment.
If the bookies are to be believed then things are already looking good for Rachel’s chance in this year’s Strictly as she has been installed as the early favourite to lift the glitterball trophy. Ladbrokes are quoting odds of just 4-1 for Rachel to win the series.
We will not have long to wait for our first look at this year’s Strictly celebrities and their professional dance partners as the first programme in the series is being shown on BBC1 at 6.50pm on Saturday 7 September.
